Gas Assist is sometimes described as a process, which allows you to hollow out thick sections of a part, or make hollow parts. And while producing hollow sections in parts, such as handles, has its obvious benefits, gas assist can be used in thin wall parts with just as much success.

The benefits to using gas assist include:

· Less material is used to produce the part.

· Better dimensional stability can be achieved

· Sink marks can be eliminated

· The part will have greater strength and rigidity

· Cycle times can be reduced

· Molded in stress is greatly reduced

· Lower clamping force is needed

Gas assist is very simply a way of providing enough packing and holding pressure during the injection molding process to produce a quality part.
